The Blue House by Phoebe Wahl

Leo has lived in the blue house with his dad for a long time, but the neighborhood is being redeveloped. Both Leo and his father are angry and sad when their landlord says their old house will be torn down. After moving to the new house, they paint a picture of the old one on a wall in Leo's room, and gradually, as they unpack and familiar things appear in the house, the new place begins to feel like home.

Available in the library as a print book and as an eBook.

Too Tall Houses by Gianna Marino

Owl and Rabbit are good friends and live in two small houses next to each other. They are perfectly happy, until Rabbit's garden gets in the way of Owl's view. Therefore, Owl builds his house a little taller, but that blocks the sun from Rabbit's vegetables. Therefore, Rabbit builds his house taller. It turns into a house-building competition and the two now not-so-good friends have the two tallest houses in the world!
All it takes is a gust of wind that knocks their houses down, to remind them that maybe living smaller and together is a much better way to remain friends. An engaging and excellent choice for one-on-one or group read-alouds.

Available in the library as a print book and as an eBook.
